For the first time in 2016, the entire Nightmares organization was present at a central tournament location at the USSSA Dave Barnhart Memorial from July 1-3, 2016. While no trophies made their way home in either division, opponents throughout the region got a taste of what is on tap in the future.

The 12-U Nightmares put on a tremendous show during pool play, rolling out to a 4-0 start and opening tournament play as one of the higher seeds. On Friday night, the 12-U girls opened the tournament with a 10-0 blanking of the Armstrong Force (Walker). From there, the bats, pitching, and defense continued to shine. In all, the team defeated YMCA Fury 6-4, Keystone Raptors 8-1, and Pittsburgh Freedom (Shimer) 12-7.

On tournament day, the Nightmares jumped out early with a 12-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Spirit 11-U Futures, before falling 10-2 to eventual tournament champions River City Venom in the second round. The 12-U girls will again be in action July 8-10 in the USSSA Battle of West Hills Tournament.
