12-U Nightmares Finish 4th in USSSA Junebug

The 12-U Nightmares got back on the tournament trail over the weekend of June 10-12, 2016 at the USSSA Junebug in Oakdale, PA. This second tournament saw many improvements and also a major upswing with the bats.

In pool play, the girls put together a respectable 2-2 record. The team opened with an impressive 16-9 victory over Vipers East before falling in their second game 15-5 to Valley Rage. The sting from that loss did not last ling as the Nightmares bounced right back with a 10-1 victory over Aftershock 12-U. Unfortunately, the team could not maintain momentum, falling 9-6 to the Pittsburgh Power 12-U (Walter).

On tournament day, the Nightmares took advantage of their positioning and opened the day with a 10-2 victory over Force 12-U. Unfortunately, their win streak ended the with a 7-6 loss to Valley Rage in the semifinals. In all, the Nightmares finished fourth in the tournament (out of 10) and are busy preparing for their next go round June 24-26 in the USSSA Blue State Championships.
